The EODD Review
Is this the Easisest Diet Ever?
The Every Other Day Diet plan is somewhat what you would expect by the title, except you do eat everyday. This isn’t a fasting diet.
First you must embrace 3 conditions that are essential to succeed.
1) you must be prepared to dedicate yourself to the program. You must be serious about implementing the EODD program.
2) there is some exercise required.
3), you must be reasonable. It took you awhile to get fat so it is going to take awhile to get slim again.
The plan taps into body fat for fuel without reducing your bodies metabolic rate. Standard theory.
The idea is interval eating. By eating in intervals, you can fool your body into thinking that calories are not being restricted. In this way, your body will not slow down it’s metabolism.
You receive 3 stages in the Every Other Day Diet plan. You start out with a primer which is the base plan. Once you lose the weight, you move to the “lifestyle” phase which is a maintenance program. Finally you can take on the third stage which is a body building program.
Each stage has a seven day caloric variance and macronutrient system. Which is to say some days you burn fat and some days you feed yourself.
On the burn days you on on a reduced calorie routine. EODD approved fiber, vegetables and lean proteins.
On the feed days, you can eat most of what you usually enjoy eating. There are some restrictions.
You aren’t to focus on calories on the EOD Diet. Eating less is a focus. Measuring food portions is laid out by their home or Hands on methods of eating system.Your hand size being and indicator of your stomach size according to EODD, you use part of your hand like say the palm to measure your protein portion. Or your left hand would might be what you use to measure your vegetable portion. etc. This is better explained in the diet, but it is simple.
You do get to eat 3 meals a day plus an evening snack which can be a salad or an apple. This is called a detox meal, which Every Other Day Diet believes will help cleanse the liver and kidneys.
Positives:
I like that you won’t “miss” food on this diet since almost everything is allowed portioned on the feed days. Since there are 3 levels of the program provided, this is like 3 diets in one.
Negatives:
There is mental element of positive reinforcement to stack their dieting deck in you favor. Where I can appreciate there has to be some positive motivation in any diet, this may not work for everyone since motivations can not be pigeon holed.
Verdict:
This is the easiest diet I have ever encountered! Overall the Janis Hauser and Jon Benson Every Other Day Diet, is sound and not dangerous.
Note there is another diet and weight loss book on the marker written by John T. Daugirdas called The QOD Diet: Eating Well Every Other Day that is also referred to the every other day diet. That is not what is reviewed above. |
I would love to try this out. trying to stay on the diet during the week is sooo hard.
I hate dieting more than anything. That\\\’s why I try not to ever get to be more than 5 pounds heavier than my ideal weight. So, far it has worked really well. It is a lot easier to drop 5 pounds than it is to drop 10, 20 or more pounds.
[...] side of the coin also. Professionals such as Jon Benson who is behind his popular dieting program every other day diet. The premise of the diet is to diet alternating days so you are not so darn miserable the entire [...]
i would like to hear more on this topic please
